Worcester man arrested for fentanyl possession, vehicle theft

WORCESTER — Worcester Police apprehended a man late Saturday night on Southbridge Street after discovering him in a stolen vehicle with a quantity of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia, officials said.

Chad Jackson, 35, of Clinton, was found asleep in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle at around 11:03 p.m. that had been reported stolen.

Worcester Police officers safely secured the vehicle and detained Jackson after he awoke and exited the car.

Upon searching Jackson, officers found two loaded syringes and several small bags containing fentanyl.

A subsequent search of his backpack revealed additional drug paraphernalia.

Further investigation confirmed Jackson had two active warrants.

He was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute Class A substances, receiving stolen property, use of a motor vehicle without authority, and for the outstanding warrants.

The owner of the stolen vehicle was notified following Jackson’s arrest.
