CONCORD — A New Hampshire State Police cruiser was hit by an impaired driver late Monday night, leading to the arrest of a Concord woman.

At approximately 10:07 p.m. on Oct. 21, Trooper Kelsey Scott, stationed at the Troop D barracks, was conducting a traffic stop on South State Street near Wall Street when her parked cruiser, with its emergency lights activated, was struck from behind by a Honda sedan.

The driver of the Honda, identified as 64-year-old Valerie Cray of Concord, continued driving a short distance before stopping in a nearby driveway.

After ensuring the individual from the initial traffic stop was safely on their way, Trooper Scott approached Cray’s vehicle.

A subsequent roadside investigation resulted in Cray’s arrest on multiple charges, including driving under the influence, possession of an open container of alcohol, and conduct after an accident.

Although both the police cruiser and Cray’s Honda sustained damage in the collision, there were no injuries reported at the scene.

Authorities are seeking additional information and asking anyone with camera footage of the incident to contact Trooper Kyle Cotnoir at (603) 451-9318 or via email at [email protected].
