WATERBURY — A Springfield, Massachusetts, man is set to face a judge Wednesday on charges related to a fatal shooting in Waterbury.
Samuel Niyonsenga, 18, is scheduled to be arraigned at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in Barre on a charge of accessory to second-degree murder.
Authorities allege that he was involved in the incident at Kneeland Flats Trailer Park, where Shawn Spiker, 34, of Croydon, New Hampshire, was killed and Michael S.
Perry, 57, of Waterbury was injured.
Niyonsenga is being held without bail at the Northeast Correctional Complex in St. Johnsbury, with his court appearance imminent.
The affidavit of probable cause is expected to be filed with the court post-arraignment, at which time it will become public.
In an update on Oct. 19, Vermont State Police confirmed the arrest of Fabrice Rumama, 20, also of Springfield, Massachusetts, in connection with Spiker’s death.
Rumama faces a second-degree murder charge and is being held without bail.
His arraignment took place on Oct. 21.
As the case unfolds, no charges have been brought forward for the shooting of Perry.
