Rhode Island State Police make arrests on outstanding warrants

PROVIDENCE — Two individuals were arrested on separate charges by Rhode Island State Troopers following motor vehicle stops in Providence, authorities said Monday and Tuesday.

On Monday at 1:14 p.m., Troopers apprehended 50-year-old Lorenzo Evans of Warwick, Rhode Island, on a bench warrant for failing to appear at a hearing related to charges of Unlawful Breaking and Entering.

The original charge was issued by the Cranston Police Department.

Evans was taken into custody on Elmwood Avenue and processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks before being handed over to Providence Superior Court.

In a second incident early Tuesday at 1:10 a.m., Troopers detained 53-year-old Ginny Gorman of Norton, Massachusetts, on a warrant for Shoplifting charges filed by the Cumberland Police Department.

Gorman was stopped on Route 95 and subsequently processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks.

She was later turned over to the Cumberland Police Department.
