BOSTON — A 27-year-old Boston man was apprehended by police Friday night in connection with a shots fired incident in Dorchester last month.

Marvin Chery was arrested around 7:58 p.m. on Oct. 18 after a traffic stop near 244 Almost Street by officers from the Boston Police Department’s District B-3 in Mattapan.

Chery, who was wanted on a warrant from Dorchester District Court, faces multiple charges including unlawful possession of a firearm for the second offense, unlawful possession of ammunition, attempted assault and battery with a firearm, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, and destruction of property.

The charges stem from an incident on Sept. 27, when officers responded to reports of gunfire at around 11:16 a.m. near 468 Harvard Street.

Although no injuries were reported, police found ballistic evidence at the scene.

Chery is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

Further details about the case were not immediately available.
