Worcester police arrest man on multiple gun charges after break-in report

WORCESTER — Worcester Police officers apprehended a man on gun-related charges early Saturday after responding to a breaking and entering report on Southgate Street.

At approximately 12:08 a.m., officers spotted a vehicle containing three males whose attire matched the descriptions of the suspects involved in the reported crime.

Upon inspection, the officers noticed an open bottle of cognac and a knife in the driver’s side door and determined that the driver was operating without a valid license.

The three individuals were instructed to exit the vehicle, leading to the discovery of a firearm on the front seat passenger, identified as Jesus Dejesus-Santos of Worcester.

The Crime Scene Unit was called to the scene to secure the weapon.

Dejesus-Santos faces charges including carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a large capacity firearm, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of a large capacity weapon with a feeding device, and possession of ammunition without an FID card, in addition to possession of an open container of alcohol.

The driver was also arrested and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and possession of an open container of alcohol.

The Worcester Police Department is continuing the investigation into the incident.
