EAST HAVEN — A man has been arrested in connection with a shoplifting incident at a Home Depot where he allegedly brandished a handgun at an employee, East Haven police said.
Officers were called to the store at 75 Frontage Road around 7:43 p.m. on Oct. 11, after reports of a suspect trying to leave with unpaid merchandise.
When confronted by a loss prevention worker, the man, identified as Daniel Mills of Middletown, showed a handgun and fled in a white work van.
Investigations, which included surveillance video and transaction records, led to the identification of Mills.
Following an arrest warrant affidavit, Mills was apprehended on Oct. 18 and faces charges of first-degree threatening and sixth-degree larceny.
He is being held on a $250,000 bond and is slated for a court appearance on Oct. 30 at G.A. 23 in New Haven.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
