GEORGIA — Vermont State Police have cited two men for their involvement in a vehicle crash that occurred on Oct. 19, where they allegedly fled the scene and provided false information to law enforcement.
The incident happened at the intersection of Oakland Station Road and Conger Road, where authorities were alerted to a single motor vehicle accident at 5:56 a.m. Following the crash, it was reported that two males absconded on foot, leaving three other occupants in the vehicle.
Those left behind were transported to the Northwestern Medical Center, with two individuals suffering moderate injuries and one with serious injuries.
The two suspects were located shortly afterward by members of the Georgia Fire Department.
They were identified as Devron Monahan, 27, of Swanton, and Ryan Powers, 25, of Brighton.
The investigation revealed that Monahan was driving the vehicle during the crash and fled the scene, while Powers, a passenger, also fled and later gave false information to the police.
Both men have been issued citations to appear in the Franklin County Superior Court on Dec. 9 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charges of Leaving the Scene of an Accident for Monahan and False Reports to Law Enforcement for Powers.
