Man arrested in Providence on counterfeit charges

PROVIDENCE — Two individuals were arrested in separate incidents by the Rhode Island State Police, with one facing charges for passing counterfeit certificates and the other for driving under the influence, authorities said.

At 4:49 p.m., troopers from the Lincoln Woods Barracks apprehended Leilani Mcclellan, 24, of Groton, Connecticut, following a motor vehicle stop on Spruce Street.

Mcclellan was arrested on an affidavit and arrest warrant from the North Kingstown Police Department for felony passing of counterfeit certificates.

After processing at the barracks, Mcclellan was handed over to North Kingstown authorities.
