Suspect arrested in Waterbury trailer park homicide

WATERBURY — Vermont State Police apprehended a suspect early Saturday in connection with a fatal shooting at Kneeland Flats Trailer Park in Waterbury.

On Oct. 14, Shawn Spiker was killed, and Micheal Perry was wounded in a shooting incident inside a trailer.

Authorities have charged Fabrice Rumama, 20, of Springfield, Massachusetts, with second-degree murder for Spiker’s death.

Rumama was ordered jailed without bail by a judge, with an arraignment scheduled for Monday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m. in the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in Barre.

As of now, no charges have been filed regarding the shooting of Micheal Perry.

Police continue their investigation, and further details are not available.

The affidavit of probable cause will become public following Rumama’s arraignment.
