However, authorities have indicated that none of these solicitations have been verified as legitimate.
Officials noted that while the panhandlers are within their legal rights to solicit donations, the truthfulness of the information on their signs is not regulated.
The Police Department emphasized that individuals are allowed to panhandle as long as they remain on the sidewalks, do not obstruct traffic, and do not exhibit aggressive behavior.
