West Warwick man arrested on multiple charges, including assaulting officers

WEST WARWICK — Troopers arrested a local man Thursday night on charges ranging from obstructing police to being a fugitive from justice, Rhode Island State Police said.

Christian M.Hunt, 26, of 1342 Main Street, was taken into custody after a vehicle stop on Main Street at 10:05 p.m.

Hunt is accused of obstruction, resisting arrest, assaulting police officers, disorderly c onduct, driving without a valid license for the fourth or subsequent offense, and being a fugitive from justice on a charge of receiving stolen property out of Swansea, Massachusetts, police said.

Following the stop, Hunt was brought to Kent County Hospital for evaluation and then transported to the State Police – Hope Valley Barracks.

He was processed and held overnight, awaiting arraignment as a bail violator at Third Division District Court.
