Boston man arrested in Humboldt Avenue stabbing

BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department’s District B-2 in Roxbury apprehended Pedro Sanchez, 43, of Mattapan on charges of assault and battery on Tuesday after responding to a stabbing incident on Humboldt Avenue.

Authorities were called to 209 Humboldt Avenue at approximately 12:42 p.m. following reports of a person stabbed.

The arriving officers found an adult male victim with a stab wound.

The victim received prompt medical attention from Boston EMS and was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

During the investigation, police gathered a description of the suspect seen fleeing the scene in a vehicle.

After canvassing the area, officers spotted an individual matching the suspect’s description returning to the location of the stabbing.

Sanchez was immediately detained and taken into custody.

Sanchez faces charges of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and is slated for arraignment in Roxbury District Court.

The investigation into the stabbing continues as authorities work to determine the circumstances leading to the altercation.
