WORCESTER — A seventeen-year-old male from Worcester was arrested Saturday evening after police responded to a report of a male with a gun on Chandler Street.
At around 7:40 p.m., officers from the Worcester Police Department’s Operations Division, Gang Unit, and Crime Gun Intelligence Unit arrived at the scene where multiple males attempted to flee upon their arrival.
Police managed to apprehend the individuals shortly after.
The juvenile was found in possession of a replica firearm and a working firearm, which was loaded with ammunition.
He was taken into custody without further incident.
Charges against the teenager include possession of a large capacity firearm, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without an FID card, possession of a large capacity weapon with a feeding device, and trespassing.
The Worcester Police Department’s Crime Scene Unit processed the working firearm as part of the investigation.
The identity of the juvenile has not been released due to his age.
