St. Johnsbury man in critical condition after early morning shooting

ST. JOHNSBURY — A man was critically injured in a non-fatal shooting on McGill Avenue early Sunday morning.

According to the Vermont State Police, Matthew Christman, 41, of St. Johnsbury, was identified as the victim of the incident that occurred around 3:10 a.m. on Oct. 6.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 16, Christman remains in critical condition at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.

The shooting is still under active investigation, and authorities have not released any further details about the incident or a potential suspect.

The Vermont State Police continue to seek information from the public that could assist in the investigation.
