SIMSBURY — After receiving a threat against Simsbury High School on Oct. 15 at approximately 1:35 p.m., local authorities and school officials worked together to quickly secure the campus and determine the threat was not credible.

The Simsbury Police Department, in collaboration with the school district and administration, initiated an immediate response to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Their investigation concluded that the educational environment remained safe, and there was no genuine danger to the occupants of the school.

An increased police presence was noticeable around the school, particularly near dismissal time, but Superintendent of Schools Matt Curtis and Police Chief Nick Boulter emphasized that this was merely a precautionary measure in light of the threat’s nature.

Community members with concerns can reach the Simsbury Police Department at their headquarters by calling (860) 658-3100 or the administration at (860) 658-3105.
