Lewiston brothers arrested on drug trafficking charges

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Police Department executed a search warrant on Oct. 15 at a local residence, leading to the arrest of two brothers on drug trafficking charges and the seizure of drugs, firearms, and cash.

Police raided the apartment at 108 Pierce St, Apartment #3, where they found 12 grams of cocaine base, 10 grams of fentanyl, two firearms—including a stolen handgun—and over $15,000 in suspected drug proceeds.

The suspects, identified as Haji Haji, 26, and his younger brother Ali Haji, 22, were taken to the Androscoggin County Jail.

Haji Haji, who is on probation for a previous drug trafficking conviction, faces charges for Aggravated Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs, Class A, and a Probation Hold.

Ali Haji has been charged with Aggravated Trafficking of Schedule Drugs Class A, Theft by Receiving Stolen Property (firearm) Class B, and Criminal Forfeiture.

As of Tuesday night, Haji Haji was held on $15,000 bail with an additional probation hold, while Ali Haji’s bail was set at $25,000.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives assisted in the investigation.
