Williamstown man arrested for aggravated domestic assault

WILLIAMSTOWN — A Williamstown man was arrested late Tuesday night after Vermont State Police responded to a report of a family disturbance.

Jeffrey Bahner, 45, is accused of assaulting a household member in the incident, which occurred at his residence.

Police were called to the scene at approximately 11:47 p.m. on Oct. 14.

Following the investigation, Bahner was taken into custody and transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing.

He was subsequently lodged by order of the courts and issued a citation to appear in Orange County Superior Court – Criminal Division on Oct. 16 at 1:00 p.m.

The Vermont State Police has not released the name of the victim, in compliance with policies protecting the identities of victims of sexual assault or domestic violence.

Further details on the case are pending the court hearing.
