Police call in tow truck for beached Great White shark in Cape Cod

1 min read

CAPE COD — The Orleans Police Department faced an unusual task when a massive Great White shark washed ashore, prompting officers to call for a tow truck to remove the sea creature.

In a situation far from their usual calls for service, the department had to figure out a way to handle the beached giant. “Not one of our typical calls for service.

Nor is it one for our local duty tow, Nauset Recovery.

But, as always, we answered the call,” the police shared in a statement.

The department enlisted the help of Dennis from Nauset Recovery, the local tow service typically responsible for vehicles stuck in the sand.

The towing of the shark mirrored the process for a 4×4 stuck on the outer beach, albeit on a much different scale.
