LYNDONVILLE — The Lyndonville Police Department has charged a 40-year-old Lyndon resident, Timothy Davidsmeier, in connection with a grand larceny case involving NorthCountry Federal Credit Union.

According to police, a complaint was filed on July 3 after an investigation revealed that in May, Davidsmeier allegedly deposited a fictitious check for $23,000 into an account at the credit union.

The check was later returned as fraudulent, but the funds had already been withdrawn and were not returned upon the credit union’s request.

The Lyndonville Police Department cited Davidsmeier on Oct. 12, and he is scheduled to be arraigned at the Caledonia Superior Court on Dec. 23 at 8:30 a.m. regarding the charges of grand larceny and false pretenses.
