NEW LONDON — A scooter collision near Cedar Grove cemetery earlier this month has resulted in the death of a New London man, police reported.
On Oct. 9, at approximately 10:56 a.m., two individuals riding scooters were involved in a motor vehicle accident on Broad Street.
One of the operators, later identified as Raymond Getty, 67, of 281 State Street, was transported to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
After being listed in critical condition, Getty passed away at Yale New Haven Hospital on Oct. 11.
The New London Police Department’s investigation into the accident is ongoing.
No further details regarding the circumstances of the accident or the condition of the other individual involved have been released at this time.
