Providence man arrested on multiple warrants after traffic stop

PROVIDENCE — At 1:27 a.m., Rhode Island State Troopers arrested Deon E. Pemberton, 42, of Providence, on outstanding warrants following a routine traffic stop on Admiral Street in Providence.

Pemberton, who resides at 92 Lynch Street, Apartment 1, was apprehended on a Providence County Superior Court bench warrant for failing to appear for presentment as a violator on the original charge of domestic felony assault and/or battery.

The charge originated from the Providence Police Department.

Additionally, he faced a Sixth Division District Court bench warrant for failing to appear at a bail violation hearing on an initial charge of simple assault and/or battery, also stemming from an incident handled by Providence Police.

The arrest occurred after Troopers conducted a motor vehicle stop.

Pemberton was then transported to the State Police – Lincoln Woods Barracks for processing.

Following the procedures, he was taken to the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake Center.
