Providence man arrested for receiving stolen goods, another for forgery

PROVIDENCE — Troopers from the Lincoln Woods Barracks conducted a series of arrests on Oct. 10, detaining individuals on charges ranging from receiving stolen goods to driving under the influence and forgery of registration plates.

Early in the day, at 10:16 a.m., Everett Britto, 51, of Providence, was apprehended following a motor vehicle stop on Elmwood Ave at Whitmarsh Street.

Britto was charged with receiving stolen goods and was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks before being taken to Sixth Division District Court for arraignment.

The final arrest of the day occurred at 10:02 p.m. when Jacob Mejia, 21, of Providence, was stopped on Westminster Street and subsequently arrested for forgery and counterfeiting of registration plates.

Mejia was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and held overnight.

He is awaiting arraignment and presentment as a bail violator at Sixth Division District Court.

The Rhode Island State Police continue to investigate these incidents.
