Springfield woman arrested on in-state warrant

SPRINGFIELD — A local woman was arrested Monday morning on an active in-state warrant, according to Springfield Police Department.

Heather Stewart was apprehended while walking on Clinton Street at approximately 9:17 a.m. after officers identified her as having an outstanding warrant.

Officers Singleton and Callahan of the Springfield Police Department conducted the arrest without incident.

Stewart was issued a criminal citation and is scheduled to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on Sept. 25 at 12:30 p.m. to respond to the charge.

The Springfield Police Department clarified that issues regarding bail or incarceration are not within their jurisdiction and are managed by the Judicial System, including judges, court clerks, and the State Attorney’s Office.
