EAST HAVEN — Police arrested a New Haven man Wednesday in connection with a fatal shooting at a local bar in 2022 that left one dead and two injured.
Willie Jamel Thompson, 47, faces charges including murder in the death of Julius Bolden-Lowe, 26, of Southington, Connecticut, who was killed Aug. 6, 2022, at Bullseye Billiards & Bar.
The New Haven Safe Streets Task Force took Thompson into custody without incident.
He is being held on $2 million bond and is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
East Haven Police Chief Edward Lennon said the arrest “marks a pivotal moment in our commitment to delivering justice” for the victim and his family.
Police said an altercation inside the bar turned physical and led to the shooting.
Bolden-Lowe died at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Two others were injured.
Thompson is also charged with criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, criminal possession of a pistol/revolver by a convicted felon and carrying a pistol without a permit.
The investigation, led by Detective Jon Trinh, involved collaboration with state police, the FBI, DEA and the New Haven state’s attorney’s office.
