WESTFORD — After receiving an anonymous tip earlier this evening, Westford Police followed up and identified the owner of an electric bike linked to a recent incident on school grounds.

Last Thursday, an individual was seen riding through school properties, raising concerns within the community.

The tip led to a Westford Police Officer locating the bike attached to the rear of a vehicle.

Upon investigation, the officer was able to confirm the bike owner’s identity and established that he was the same person involved in last week’s occurrence.

The cyclist, who had been spotted on the school properties, cooperated with authorities and spoke with officers regarding the incident.

He clarified that he wears protective gear when riding through local trails.

After a thorough investigation, police determined that the cyclist had not committed any crime nor posed any threat to public safety.

Westford Police Department extends its gratitude to the individuals who stepped forward with information that assisted in this investigation.

Both the department and Westford Public Schools reiterate their dedication to ensuring the safety of students and staff.
