WESTFORD — The Westford Police Department has been on the lookout for an unidentified individual who was spotted riding an e-bike through the parking lots of four local public schools since last Thursday, October 3.

Despite the ongoing investigation, which began immediately after the incident was reported, authorities have not yet been able to identify the e-biker.

Police have found no evidence of malicious intent or any indication that the person posed a threat to the schools or to public safety.

As a precautionary measure, the department has announced it will increase its presence around school properties on Monday, October 7.

Additional officers will be specifically assigned to patrol during the busy morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up times.

While acknowledging the concerns of parents and community members, the department has reassured the public that there is currently no reason to believe the individual had any criminal intentions, nor have any crimes been committed in relation to the incident on Thursday.

The Westford Police Department remains committed to working closely with Westford Public Schools to ensure the ongoing safety of all students and staff, and will continue to pursue leads to identify the individual involved.
