AUBURN — Auburn Police Detectives, in collaboration with Massachusetts State Police and other agencies, arrested a local man on charges of possessing and distributing child pornography following an investigation and a search warrant executed at his residence on Sept. 30.

Michael Gemme, 24, of Auburn, was taken into custody after detectives, with assistance from the Internet Crime Against Children Task Force (ICAC), Cyber Crime Unit, and the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council SWAT Team, discovered evidence of the illegal materials.

Gemme was held overnight at the Auburn Police Department with bail set at $2,500.

Following his arraignment in Worcester District Court, he was released on his own recognizance with certain conditions.

The investigation revealed no indications that any children from the Auburn community were depicted in the recovered images.

Authorities remind the public that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
