The department has received multiple reports of scammers spoofing their number, 781-643-1212, and posing as officers to threaten residents with arrest warrants.
Authorities emphasized that they would never make calls threatening to arrest someone.
The scam calls have been falsely informing recipients that they are speaking with an officer from the Arlington Police Department and that there is a warrant for their arrest.
Residents who receive such calls are advised to hang up immediately.
The police are urging the community to protect their personal information and never provide payment details over the phone to unsolicited callers.
