Worcester vice squad seizes drugs, arrests four in Piedmont Street raid

WORCESTER — In a significant crackdown on local drug trafficking, the Worcester Police Vice Squad executed a search warrant on Piedmont St. on Oct. 3, leading to the recovery of a large stash of narcotics and the arrest of four individuals.

Around 8:30 p.m., officers observed Kavin Andino, 22, leaving the targeted apartment.

Upon entering the premises, they detained Andino, who was seen discarding a bag suspected to contain cocaine.

The subsequent search of the apartment unveiled substantial quantities of substances believed to be cocaine and fentanyl, along with pills and an assortment of packaging materials.

Andino is facing charges for trafficking in cocaine, between 100 and 199 grams, trafficking in heroin, between 36 and 99 grams, and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

Additionally, Julio Maldonado, 48, and Marian Calis, 29, were arrested at the scene and are facing identical charges as Andino.

Jerry Landrau, a 22-year-old resident of Grafton St., was also taken into custody.

He is charged with conspiracy to violate drug laws, possession of brass knuckles, and interfering with a police investigation.

The Worcester Police Department continues to investigate the incident and urges anyone with information to come forward.
