SHERBORN — Officers from the Sherborn Police Department arrested an international murder suspect earlier this week during routine patrols.
Aniel De Oliveira Pinto, who had been using multiple aliases to evade detection, was identified and detained following an investigation by local authorities.
The Sherborn Police discovered that De Oliveira Pinto was not only wanted in Massachusetts but also the subject of an INTERPOL RED NOTICE for murder charges in Brazil, his native country.
The arrest was the result of the department’s commitment to proactive policing and detailed investigative work.
De Oliveira Pinto is currently held in federal custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and is awaiting extradition to Brazil to face the murder charges.
