NEW BEDFORD — A Fall River probationer was arrested early Saturday morning after police said he threatened security staff with a firearm and was later found with crack cocaine and a loaded gun.
Patrol officers responded to a call at the Last Round Bar & Grill on Sept. 29 around 1 a.m. for a fight in progress.
Ricky Ricardo Lorinzi, 28, allegedly threatened the security staff with a gun and fled in a vehicle.
He abandoned the vehicle behind the bar and continued to flee on foot.
Officers apprehended Lorinzi at the intersection of William St. and Acushnet Ave. after a short chase.
He initially gave a false name but was soon identified and found to have an active arrest warrant.
In the vehicle, police found two baggies of crack cocaine and a digital scale.
A Taurus G3C firearm with a high-capacity extended magazine containing 16 9 mm cartridges was discovered discarded in the threshold of a nearby building.
Lorinzi, who was previously convicted of firearm possession in January and was on probation from the Fall River District Court, faces charges including possession of a firearm with a high-capacity magazine, threatening use of a firearm, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and possession of crack cocaine.
