Lowell, MA man arrested with loaded gun, drugs and cash

LOWELL — Officers from the Lowell Police Department’s Gang Unit arrested an adult male Saturday for his connection to an incident in the Pawtucketville neighborhood, recovering a loaded gun, drugs, and cash during the apprehension.

During the Oct. 1 operation, the Gang Unit officers found the suspect in possession of a loaded MC9 handgun, 25.04 grams of crack cocaine, and $4,665 in cash inside his backpack.

The man, whose identity has not been released, was arrested and faces multiple charges.

The charges levied against the individual include carrying a firearm while loaded, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a large capacity feeding device, trafficking cocaine over 18 grams but less than 36 grams, use of a firearm while committing a felony, resisting arrest, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, intimidation of a witness, and willful/malicious destruction of property.

Lowell Police Department officials have not provided further details on the incident leading to the arrest or the identity of the man apprehended.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist with the case.
