WESTON — Police are searching for a suspect involved in the theft of an Apple iPhone16 from a Buckskin Drive residence on Oct. 1, shortly after a FedEx delivery.
According to the Weston Police Department, the suspect, described as a dark-skinned male, was captured on surveillance footage stealing the package from the porch within minutes of delivery.
He was attired in black pants, a black jacket, and a matte black helmet, with a black facemask and one black glove on his left hand.
The suspect’s footwear was distinctive—gray and white Nike sneakers.
Additionally, the individual was seen operating a dark-colored moped with a large cargo container attached to the rear.
Authorities are alerting the community about a rise in package thefts, particularly those containing Apple iPhones.
It is believed that criminals may have access to delivery information, facilitating targeted thefts.
The Weston Police Department urges residents to consider alternative delivery options for cell phones, such as secure dropbox locations available at retail outlets like the UPS Store, Staples, or WholeFoods.
The police are asking anyone who has witnessed suspicious behavior or has information about this incident to contact the Weston Police Department immediately to assist in the investigation.
