WORCESTER — Detectives from the Worcester Police Department’s Gang Unit and Crime Gun Intelligence Unit arrested an 18-year-old Shiloh Labadie after recovering two illegal firearms on the night of Sept. 30.
The arrest occurred around 10:25 p.m. when officers were patrolling Harrington Way in response to a report of a vehicle passenger brandishing a firearm.
Detectives spotted two individuals matching the suspects’ descriptions, donning all black attire and ski masks.
Upon the detectives’ approach, both individuals fled on foot.
During the chase, Labadie, a Worcester resident, stumbled, which led to a detective spotting a firearm on his person.
A second gun was discovered alongside a phone that Labadie claimed to own.
He was confirmed to be without a carry license for the weapons.
The Crime Scene Unit was called to the site to process and secure the firearms as evidence.
Labadie faces charges including carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm, trespassing, possession of ammunition without an FID card, and improper storage of a firearm.
Authorities are continuing their search for the second suspect.
