Suspect sought in Roxbury bicycle thefts

BOSTON — Boston police are seeking the public’s help to identify a suspect in connection with a breaking and entering incident in Roxbury where three bicycles were stolen.

The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, in the area of Millmont Street, according to detectives from District B-2.

Police describe the suspect as a Black or Hispanic male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a thin build and hair in a ponytail.

He was reportedly wearing a dark brown hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, black sneakers with white soles, and a white bicycle helmet.

The suspect is believed to frequent the areas of 10 Roxbury Street, Island Street, Gerald Street, and Massachusetts Avenue.

He was later observed around 3:59 a.m. in the area of Melnea Cass Boulevard and was also seen coming from Dorchester Avenue by Preble Street before heading back to Island Street and Reading Street.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact District B-2 Detectives at 617-343-4275.

The Boston Police Department assures that the identities of those providing information will be protected.
