Domestic assault suspect arrested in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD — A Springfield man faces domestic assault charges following an early morning incident Sunday.

Zachary D. Carpenter was arrested after police responded to a 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance at 35 Chester Road at 2:07 a.m. on Sept. 22.

Officer Callahan of the Springfield Police Department investigated the scene and took Carpenter into custody without incident.

He was transported to the police station for processing.

Carpenter was issued conditions of release and a criminal citation to appear at the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit at 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 23 to answer to the charge of domestic assault.

He was later transported to Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash or surety bail.
