PLAINFIELD — A local man was arrested on charges of domestic assault following a family disturbance in Plainfield, authorities said.
The Vermont State Police responded to the incident at a residence on Sept. 25 at approximately 8:21 p.m. The investigation revealed that John Downing, 48, had assaulted a household member.
Downing was arrested and taken to the Berlin Barracks for processing.
Following a court order, he was issued a citation to appear in Washington County Superior Court – Criminal Division on Sept. 30 at 12:30 p.m.
In accordance with their policy, the Vermont State Police have not released the name of the victim of the domestic violence incident.
