LEBANON — A Lebanon man was arrested on multiple charges after causing a disturbance and resisting arrest in a parking lot Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
Lebanon Police Department reported that at around 4 p.m. on Sept. 26, they received calls about a disorderly man, later identified as Kevin Reed, 39, yelling at an individual and causing concern among people at 16 Railroad Avenue.
Upon arrival, an officer encountered Reed, who displayed immediate hostility, shouting profanities and ignoring lawful commands.
The situation escalated when Reed made threatening gestures, implying he might assault the officer.
When informed of his arrest, Reed tried to flee and a taser was deployed, but he continued to resist.
Additional officers arrived to assist, and despite Reed’s attempts to bite them and his verbal threats, he was subdued and taken to the Lebanon Police Department.
Reed has been charged with two counts of disorderly conduct, four counts of resisting arrest, two counts of simple assault, and two counts of criminal threatening, all class A misdemeanors.
He was held in preventative detention and is scheduled for arraignment on Sept. 27 in the 2nd Circuit Lebanon District Court.
The police also stated that Reed is facing additional charges from previous incidents on Aug. 25 and Aug. 28, including unlawful activities: litter control, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, simple assault, and criminal threatening, all misdemeanors, as well as two counts of possession of marijuana, a violation.
He is currently being held at the Grafton County House of Corrections.
