RYEGATE — A 19-year-old St. Johnsbury resident was hospitalized late Wednesday night after her vehicle overturned on Interstate 91, according to the Vermont State Police.

Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks responded to the scene of a single-vehicle crash near mile marker 114.2 around 11:23 p.m.

Callie Meisel, the driver of a 2021 Ford Ranger, reportedly lost control due to wet road conditions amid heavy rain.

The truck sustained significant damage after flipping over in the median.

Meisel, who was wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident, was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation of minor injuries.

The Vermont State Police are continuing to investigate the incident, reminding motorists to exercise caution when driving in inclement weather conditions.
