CAMPTON — A crash involving a commercial tractor-trailer and a New Hampshire Department of Transportation truck left three people injured today, Sept. 25.

At 12:01 p.m., State Troopers assigned to the Troop F barracks responded to Interstate 93 southbound near mile marker 86.6, for a reported crash with injuries.

Upon arrival, Troopers found a 1997 Peterbilt tractor-trailer and a New Hampshire DOT Ford F450 dump truck in the median with significant damage.

The preliminary investigation indicated that the tractor-trailer was traveling through an active construction zone where the travel lane was closed.

The DOT truck, failing to yield, pulled out from the closed lane and collided with the tractor-trailer, causing both vehicles to veer off the highway into the median.

The driver and a passenger from the DOT truck, along with the tractor-trailer’s driver, were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Both vehicles required towing from the crash site.

The incident led to a partial closure of I-93 for approximately 5 ½ hours as Troopers investigated the scene and crews worked on cleanup.

The New Hampshire State Police continue to investigate the crash.

They urge anyone with information to contact Trooper Jacob Thomas at 603-846-3333 or via email at [email protected].
