MANCHESTER — A man has been arrested by Manchester Police for allegedly sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13 several years ago, authorities announced.

Ramon Ayala, 51, of Manchester, was taken into custody in connection with the incident that dates back to January 2018.

The police were initially informed of the assault that year and began an investigation which led to the issuance of a warrant for Ayala’s arrest.

At the time, Ayala was transient and evaded capture, presumably fleeing the state.

This summer, new information surfaced regarding Ayala’s whereabouts, prompting him to turn himself in to Manchester Police on Sept. 23.

He is currently facing charges of Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault.

A judge has set Ayala’s bail at $1,000 cash, with a scheduled court hearing on Oct. 1.

The investigation remains active, and authorities indicate that additional charges against Ayala may be pending.

Manchester Police are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward and contact them at 603-668-8711 to assist in the ongoing case.
