LEWISTON — Just after 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 24, Lewiston Police Department officers responded to a shots fired report at the intersection of Ash and Howe streets.

Surveillance footage revealed two males discharging a handgun down Howe Street toward Pine Street, with two parked vehicles being struck.

No injuries have been reported in connection with the gunfire.

Later that evening, at 7:29 p.m., a multi-vehicle accident was reported at the intersection of Main and Canal streets.

The driver at fault fled the scene, only to crash into other vehicles shortly after.

The suspect’s vehicle was found on Lisbon Street, and the driver, identified as 25-year-old Skyler Henson of Auburn, attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended by the authorities.

Henson, who had been arrested the previous weekend for causing significant damage to vehicles at Rowe Auburn, had his bail reduced by a judge from $5,000 cash to $150, allowing for his release.

Now in custody again, Henson faces a string of charges including Driving to Endanger, Operating After Suspension, Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident, and Violating Conditions of Release.

At 8:25 p.m., another report of shots fired came in, this time from the downtown area.

Witnesses reported hearing gunshots, and by the following morning, investigators found multiple shell casings at 116 Pierce St. Bullet holes were also discovered in a nearby porch.

Lewiston Police will be reviewing surveillance footage and collecting further evidence as they actively investigate both shooting incidents.
