SPRINGFIELD — In response to an armed robbery report, Springfield Police apprehended three suspects and seized a large-capacity firearm over the weekend.

At approximately 11:40 p.m. on Sept. 21, officers rushed to Armory and Warwick streets following an armed robbery involving three suspects.

Two victims claimed they were robbed at gunpoint.

Upon arrival, police detained two individuals, Ahman Patterson and Angelia Matos, on Albany Street.

They matched the suspects’ descriptions provided by the victims.

A third person, Keylon Davy-Cook, fled the scene, reaching for his waistband and discarding a firearm onto a rooftop in the 200 block of Albany Street.

Though Davy-Cook initially escaped into a nearby wooded area, the Springfield Fire Department assisted officers in retrieving the loaded gun, which held a 32-round capacity, from the roof.

Patterson and Matos were subsequently recognized and arrested for their alleged roles in the robbery.

The following evening, Sept. 22, around 9 p.m., the Springfield Police C3 Unit, while surveilling the 1100 block of St. James Avenue, spotted Davy-Cook entering a vehicle.

After the car, displaying a defective license plate light, began to drive off, officers stopped it on the 1000 block of St. James Avenue.

Davy-Cook was arrested, and the driver received a citation.
