SAXTONS RIVER — A single motor vehicle crash on Westminster Street led to the arrest of a 37-year-old Athens man on multiple charges, including DUI drug and possession of cocaine, Vermont State Police said.

Authorities received a 911 call at about 12:20 p.m. reporting the incident.

Upon arrival, troopers identified Joshua Lescord as the operator of the vehicle.

During their interaction, troopers observed several signs of impairment and conducted a field screening.

Lescord was taken into custody under suspicion of DUI drug.

Further investigation at the scene uncovered that Lescord was also in possession of cocaine, was driving with a criminally suspended license, and had breached multiple conditions of release from prior court orders.

Following the arrest, Lescord was processed at the Westminster Barracks.

He was issued a criminal citation and is scheduled to appear at the Windham County Superior Court on Dec. 3 at 8:30 a.m.
