Francestown crash leaves one dead after vehicle strikes tree

FRANCESTOWN — A single-vehicle crash early this morning claimed the life of a young adult in Francestown.

State Troopers from Troop B barracks were called to the scene on Route 136 at approximately 4:15 a.m. after a passerby reported a vehicle collision.

Upon arrival, they found a 2023 Subaru Crosstrek engulfed in flames following a head-on impact with a tree.

The driver, identified as 21-year-old Nolan Trottier of Francestown, was the only person in the car.

Trottier was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries from the crash.

The road was closed for around two hours as emergency crews, including members of the New Boston Police Department and the Francestown Fire Department, worked at the site of the accident.

The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
