Search for missing autistic man intensifies in Oxford

1 min read

OXFORD — The Oxford Police Department has intensified its efforts to locate a missing 24-year-old autistic man, last seen leaving his home on Buffum Dam Road around 1 p.m. Tristan, a Caucasian male with blond hair and blue eyes, stands at 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds.

He was last spotted wearing a gray Revolution Soccer Team sweatshirt, gray shorts, and dark-colored sneakers.

After a full day of searching, the operation has engaged 18 police officers, multiple drones from the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council, and six K9 units.

Despite the strong initial response, the K9 search has been temporarily halted until morning to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the dogs.

Authorities have issued a Code Red and a Silver Alert to publicize Tristan’s disappearance and are diligently following up on numerous tips from the community.

The Massachusetts State Police Airwing Unit has been contacted, but they were unable to deploy at this time.

The Oxford Police Department cautioned against private citizens conducting nighttime searches, citing the dangers of poor visibility and potential for accidents or disorientation.

However, they remain committed to continuing the search throughout the night and plan to redeploy K9 units at dawn.

In a plea for public assistance, the department has asked residents to keep any outdoor lights on to aid in the search and to share any information they might have.

Anyone who knows Tristan or has seen him since his disappearance is urged to contact the Oxford Police Department and ask for Sgt. Kasik or inform the dispatcher with any details.

The latest image of Tristan, captured by a Ring camera, shows him headed towards Charlton Street.
