ENFIELD, Conn. — A fatal motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle claimed the life of a Springfield woman and severely injured the driver on Friday.
The Enfield Police Department Traffic Division reported that the crash occurred around 1:20 p.m. near 35 Somers Road.
Jose Del Rosario Collazo Jr., 31, of Chicopee, Massachusetts, was operating the motorcycle and was transported to St. Francis Hospital with suspected serious injuries.
His passenger, Amanda Santiago, 27, also from Springfield, Massachusetts, was taken to the same hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The Enfield Police Department Traffic Division is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
