Burlington man faces third DUI charge after traffic stop in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE — A Burlington man was arrested on suspicion of his third DUI after a traffic stop for speeding late Friday night.

At about 10:09 p.m. on Sept. 20, Vermont State Police pulled over a vehicle on VT Route 108 South near Desjardin Road for a speeding violation.

The driver, identified as 50-year-old Eric Byrd of Burlington, showed signs of impairment during the interaction with troopers, according to the police report.

Following the stop, Byrd was taken into custody and transported to the Williston Barracks for processing.

He was later released with a citation to appear in Lamoille County Superior Court on Oct. 9 at 12:30 p.m. to respond to the DUI #3 charge.

Vermont State Police continue to remind motorists to drive responsibly and adhere to traffic laws to ensure the safety of all road users.
