Rutland police investigate shooting near library

RUTLAND — A man was injured in a shooting Thursday morning at the intersection of Library Avenue and Pine Street, according to Rutland City Police.

Authorities received a call at about 11:53 a.m. reporting gunfire.

Officers arrived to find a male victim with a gunshot wound to the chest.

The injured man was quickly transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The Rutland City Police Department is actively investigating the incident and is seeking help from the community.
